ilustraciones, fotografías, gráficas, tablasUtilizando foliolos de progenies de siete familias de S. phureja introducidas del Banco de Germoplasma de Estados Unidos (Wisconsin), junto con 15 genotipos de la colección de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, se evaluó en laboratorio la respuesta de resistencia a P. infestans empleando la raza cero (R0) y una raza compleja (H1N) del patógeno. Las variedades Diacol Monserrate y Algodona conocidas por su resistencia de tipo horizontal, y Diacol Capiro con reporte de genes mayores, fueron utilizadas como testigos. La población de S. phureja evaluada evidenció ausencia de genes R y por su respuesta a la raza compleja se seleccionaron 9 clones como progenitores (PI 275110-3, PI 225669-7, PI 225674-29, PI 225672-12, PI 225684-7, Col 138, Col 99 y Col 121 y Criolla Colombia). Se construyó un dialélico (F1 y recíprocos) cuya progenie fue evaluada en campo bajo condiciones de alta presión de inóculo (Santa Elena -Antioquia). Las variables evaluadas fueron área bajo la curva del progreso de la enfermedad relativa (ABCPEr) y potencial de rendimiento. Se presentaron efectos altamente significativos para la Habilidad Combinatoria (HC) General y específica. Adicionalmente, se encontró efecto significativo para la HC de recíprocos en la variable potencial de rendimiento. El valor de la heredabilidad para resistencia a P. infestans fue de 40,78 en sentido amplio y 13,70 en sentido estrecho, mientras que para el potencial de rendimiento fue de 27,69 y 6,21 respectivamente. La correlación genética aditiva entre el ABCPEr y el potencial de rendimiento fue alta (0,60). En la población en estudio se encontró ganancia genética negativa en ambos caracteres, lo que indica que no es adecuada como poblacion de selección. (Texto tomado de la fuente).In the current study we used, on the one hand, leaflets from progenies of seven families of S. phureja from the Germplasm Bank of the United States (Wisconsin), and on the other hand, 15 genotypes from the collection of the National University of Colombia. Under laboratory conditions we evaluated the resistance of these materials to P. infestans, using two races of the pathogen: Zero (R0) and the complex race H1N. The potato varieties Monserrate Diacol and Algodona, known for their horizontal resistance, and Diacol Capiro, which has been reported to contain major genes, were used as controls. The evaluated population of S. phureja showed the absence of R genes. For their response to the complex race, 9 clones were selected as progenitors: (PI 275110-3, 225669-7 PI, PI 225674-29, PI 225672-12, PI 225684-7, Col 138, Col 99, Col 121 and Criolla Colombia). We developed a diallel (F1 and reciprocal) whose progeny was evaluated in the field under high inoculum pressure conditions (Santa Elena, department of Antioquia). The studied variables were relative area under the disease progress curve (AUDPCr) and yield potential. There were highly significant effects for both general and specific combining ability (CA). In addition to the variable yield potential, a significant effect was found for reciprocal CA. The heritability values for resistance to P. infestans were 40.78 in the broad sense, and 13.70 in the narrow sense; while for yield potential these same values were respectively 27.69 and 6.21. The additive genetic correlation between AUDPCr and yield potential was high (0.60).
